The Saudi Prince and the Pauper

At the end of the fortnight’s spree in London, Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Nasser al Saud murdered Bandar Abdulaziz: his servant, his lover, his punch-bag and his slave. He spent the next 12 hours on the phone to Saudi Arabia, working out how to cover up his crime.  When the police arrived, he lied about how Bandar had sustained his injuries, and tried to claim diplomatic immunity. It took the Old Bailey jury less than 90 minutes to find the prince guilty of murder and grievous bodily harm. As DCI John McFarlane pronounced on the steps outside, "No man, not even a prince, is above the law."
