A Life Less Lonely offered audiences a unique insight into how loneliness affects people of all ages and backgrounds, bringing them to the heart of the issue. Across the day there were case studies, interviews, monologues, videos, audio and blogs from the wide variety of programmes made in BBC North, including Radio 5 live, programmes on Radio 2, Radio 4 and 6 Music plus BBC Breakfast and a dedicated website. A Life Less Lonely also looked at the work of charities running inventive projects up and down the country aiming to ease isolation for lonely people.
