Nick (real name Aron) works in his uncle’s barber shop, he has no clients. The reason being that when Aron was cutting a child’s hair, he nicked him accidentally, making the child cry and causing ructions with the father. Hence, ‘Nick’ rather than Aron, no one willing to let him loose on their hair. One day alone in the shop, there is an urgent knocking on the door. It’s a famous Trinidadian musician, Imani Cedeno. He has had a disaster trying to clip his hair at home, and needs urgent pre-gig attention. Nick is reluctant, Imani is insistent, the cut is successful, the pair bond. But Imani wants Nick to keep his visit a secret, a visit which would transform Nick’s career.
